Water element of Dubai
What is the name of the sea that washes the coast where Dubai is built? This city is located on the shores of the Persian Gulf, which is also sometimes called the Arabian. In principle, the United Arab Emirates also has access to the Indian Ocean. There is another popular local resort - Fujairah.
Dubai is ideal for sunbathing and sea lovers. The sea near the coast is relatively quiet. The artificial islands, which have significantly increased the coastline, can be considered a kind of dams that protect the coast from high waves. The shore slopes gently into the water, so you can swim here even with small children. The water temperature in the Persian Gulf is slightly higher than that of the beaches of Fujairah. In winter, it stays at around 20-23 degrees, which is pretty cool. But in summer, the water warms up to 30-35 degrees.
When ordering a room in a Dubai hotel located on the seashore, pay attention to the phrase "Ocean view". Naturally, I mean the view of the Persian Gulf, the ocean is far away, and is not visible from here.
All of the most famous beaches in Dubai are located away from the local port and waterway - the Dubai Creek Canal, which goes inland and divides the city into two districts.
Marine attractions
Dubai is often called the city of the future. The city government is not limited to expanding the city towards the desert. The most expensive plots are considered to be plots on the coast. Now they are being created artificially.
Several archipelagos of islands have been built off the coast of Dubai, which are now real city attractions. Among them are:
- the three Palm Islands: Jumeirah, Jebel Ali and Deira. The construction of the first island - Palm Jumeirah, with its appearance resembling a palm tree, began in 2001. After 5 years, it was built up with mansions that were sold out by wealthy people from all over the planet in 3 days. The second island - Jebel Ali - was ready by 2007. The largest of the Palm Islands, Deira, is located on the other side of the Dubai Creek. Each island is protected by a breakwater from the strong waves of the Persian Gulf;
- The Mir archipelago consists of 300 small artificial islands, which are located so as to resemble a world map from a bird's eye view. The archipelago is 4 km from the coast. Unlike the Palm Islands, the Mir archipelago is not connected to the coast by road. Each artificial island in the archipelago is estimated at approximately $ 30 million;
- Archipelago Universe is under construction. It will be created on the basis of the Mir archipelago.

Dubai beaches
Each luxury hotel, marked with 4-5 stars and located on the coast, has its own private beach. The best view of the sea surface, not obscured by the Palm Islands, opens from Jumeirah Beach, which is at the disposal of several five-star hotels, including the Burj Al Arab Sail Hotel, perhaps the most famous building in Dubai. The length of this beach is 1.5 km. The water near the coast is clear, the sandy beach itself is clean. It is here that you can meet many world celebrities vacationing in Dubai.
Those tourists who choose to stay in offshore hotels usually enjoy sea procedures at the two local beach centers "Jumeirah Beach Park" and "Al Mamzar Park".
What to watch out for while swimming in the Persian Gulf? Often, especially in summer, jellyfish Aurelia aurita are found near the coast. To get immediate help with a jellyfish burn, you should swim on the beaches where there are lifeguard towers.
There are no sharks off the coast of Dubai, as many local beaches are surrounded by protective nets. But in shallow water, there are stingrays that are afraid of people, but can sting if you accidentally step on them. Therefore, you should stomp your feet when entering the water in order to scare them away.
