The first rule of tourist hunters for beautiful pictures is to climb as high as possible and shoot the terrain from a great height. Observation platforms have been built in many popular resorts, including the city of Sochi. The cable car greatly facilitates the ascent to such sightseeing places. In Sochi, in the very center, there is a lift located in the arboretum and leading to the observation deck. There are also cable cars in the nearby ski village of Krasnaya Polyana. All of them are very popular among tourists vacationing in Sochi and its environs. Where should you go first? Where are the scenic views?

The arboretum in Sochi is located on a hillside. Only well-trained people can inspect all its beauty, walking upwards on foot. All other tourists climb to the uppermost sector of the arboretum by cable car, and then, leisurely, enjoying the walk, go down, not missing a single local attraction.

The cable car in the arboretum was built in 1977. Already in the new millennium, it was modernized, replacing the old equipment with new ones delivered from Austria. The ascent takes just over 3 minutes. During this time, guests of the park drive about 900 meters. The observation deck is quite large: it can accommodate up to 80 people at a time. Therefore, various cultural events are often held here. From the open area you can see the majestic panorama of the mountains, stretching out at the bottom of Sochi and the arboretum itself.

The cable car begins its work at 9:00 (Tuesday - Sunday) and at 11:00 on Monday. One-way fare is 250 rubles for an adult. Children's ticket is cheaper. The funicular is not included in the cost of visiting the arboretum.

Rosa Khutor lifts

Rosa Khutor is considered one of the most popular ski resorts in Krasnaya Polyana. Tourists come here in the summer as well, fortunately, there is enough entertainment here. The highest observation deck in the region is located in Rosa Khutor. It can be found at an altitude of 2509 meters on the Stone Pillar Mountain.

The local cable car takes you to several stations located at different levels. Accordingly, the fee is charged for travel along a certain section of the path.

The cable car and lift stations are as follows:

  • Rose of the Plateau. This observation deck is located near the famous Olympic Village at an altitude of 1170 m. The ticket price to Rosa Plato is 850 rubles. You can relax and enjoy the view of the mountains in the Berloga restaurant;
  • Rose Peak. The highest station of the cable car is at 2320 m. Here you can change to a chair lift. Ticket price to Rosa Peak station - 1350 rubles;
  • Mountain Stone Pillar. You can get here on the Crocus chair lift. Travel for Rose Peak ticket holders is free. A scenic path leads to the lower station of the chair lift.

The management of the Rosa Khutor complex also offers an evening rise to the Rosa Plato, where you can have a great time before bed in bars, restaurants and a cinema. An evening visit to the Olympic Village, or rather a trip by cable car, will cost 1000 rubles.

Other funiculars in Sochi

Two more resorts of Krasnaya Polyana have their own lifts, with the help of which you can get to open areas, from where breathtaking panoramas open up.

Complex Gorki Gorod, which can be reached on foot or by bus from Rosa Khutor, has 5 observation decks, where the cable car rises. There are also two chair lifts. You can use them to get to the Tsirk-2 station, located in an unusually beautiful hollow between the peaks.

Another cable car takes everyone from Gorki Gorod to the Palikar cascade - a local miracle of nature, which you should definitely see during your vacation in Sochi.

Tourists climb to the Gazprom tourist base directly from the Rosa Khutor railway station. A large cable car with spacious panoramic cabins, each of which can simultaneously accommodate 30 people, was built specifically to lift tourists to the Psekhako plateau, to a height of 1660 meters, in a matter of minutes, where the Gazprom GTZ is located. Several interesting observation platforms can be found in the vicinity of the base.
