Prague can be called the Rome of Eastern Europe - all tourist roads lead here - to the abode of medieval churches, gingerbread houses and Gothic spiers. It is no wonder that the city has an incredible number of hotels for every taste and budget. A lot depends on which hotel to choose in Prague - whether it will be a royal vacation in a luxurious apartment or a modest vacation without frills, but full of impressions and delight.
At first, Prague hotels surprise inexperienced tourists, accustomed to the abundance of Turkey and Egypt, with a completely different approach to service. Indeed, you will not find establishments with "all inclusive" here, and the few that exist understand a somewhat different principle of work by this.
All-inclusive establishments offer full three meals a day, sometimes additional services are included here, for example, a swimming pool, free parking or the Internet. However, the feast that the regulars of Turkish hotels are used to in the Czech capital, and in Europe as a whole, is definitely not there. Most of the establishments offer a standard set of services: accommodation, breakfast at the hotel. Luxurious 5 * complexes provide extended service, but even here many offers are paid separately from the room.

Hotel geography

Old Town Square, Prague Castle, Vysehrad, Strahov Monastery, St. Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge, as well as palaces, medieval cathedrals, churches, town halls - all this is located in the historical heart of the city and is enclosed within the boundaries of Prague-1. It is quite logical, room prices are high, but the temptation to live surrounded by centuries-old historical monuments and masterpieces of world architecture is even higher. Well, wealthy tourists do not even ask themselves the question of which hotel to choose in Prague, but settle in branches of international chains a la Hilton, Sheraton, Intercontinental or Marriott.
The Prague-2 district is another central quarter, no less prestigious and spoiled by architectural monuments. But Prague-3, although officially included in the center, is located within its boundaries only partially, while more than half of the territory is not a cultural heritage. For this reason, prices in local hotels are much more modest, and the difference in price is quite enough for a tram and even a taxi to get to the objects of interest.
The cost of living in other hotels decreases with distance from the historical streets; here you can find quite affordable options for 50 or even 30 € per day. Although the most expensive, luxurious and fashionable establishments should certainly be sought in the center.
The districts Prague-4, Prague-5, as well as Prague-6 and Prague-7 are adjacent to the city center, but are not included in it, which reduces the price tags for housing by almost half, while the accommodation conditions here are quite decent. Thanks to the well-developed public transport system, you can reach sightseeing points in a few minutes and even get there on foot, spending about an hour for a walk.
The rest of Prague's quarters are not so popular in the tourist environment for obvious reasons - a long road to the main attractions, the lack of large-scale entertainment and events. There are not many hotels in these areas either, but their prices are pleasing to the eye with accessibility and democracy. This type of accommodation is suitable for guests on a budget or travelers who are not intimidated by the extra 40-80 minutes on the metro to the center.
Five star luxury
Of the several hundred Prague hotels, a good quarter is accounted for by establishments of the 4 and 5 stars category. Unlike Asia and third world countries, there is a clear star classification. Troikas successfully combine quality, comfort and reasonable price due to the lack of frills. Here you will not see designer furniture and collectible tableware, chandeliers made of Bohemian crystal and 50-year-old wines, there are no pools and massage parlors, everything is very nice and home-like.
Most often these are small hotels with a minimum staff, a small number of rooms, compact and tidy rooms and a minimum set of amenities - furniture and a bathroom. Bonuses such as internet, air conditioning or a safe are optional, that is, they can be provided for a fee, or they may not be provided at all.
For tourists with an average income who have come to admire the cultural heritage of the Czechs, this is a godsend, as prices start at 35 € per night. The lion's share of the triplets is located in and around historic quarters. Hotel rooms are designed exclusively for overnight stays. These are small rooms with a minimal set of furniture, often they do not even have elementary equipment - a TV, refrigerator and air conditioner, and the bathroom is shared and is located in the corridor. For an additional fee, you can buy food, drinks, use the laundry, kitchen and other services.

Hostels
Hostels or 1 * hotels are the most economical of the types of accommodation in Prague and prices here start from 15 €, as they say, cheaper only for nothing. For this 15 € you will get a small but solid bed in a room for 8-20 people. Amenities are usually located on the floor, and there is also a shared kitchen, dining room and seating area.
Typically, this type of accommodation is chosen by young people or avid travelers who are not spoiled by extra money. Solitude and tranquility in hostels is in short supply, but there is plenty of communication and new friends. But it is still better to leave valuables in the storage room or keep them with you.
A considerable advantage of hostels is that there are many of them and there is always a free place in them, for example, if you have not decided which hotel to choose in Prague and have not booked a room in advance, having left without a place to sleep upon arrival.
