- How to get to Barcelona by train?
How to get to Barcelona if there are no plane tickets? You can fly to another Spanish resort - to Valencia, and from there get to Barcelona.
The capitals of the two Spanish provinces - Valencia and Barcelona - are separated by about 300 kilometers. Both cities, located on the Mediterranean coast, are famous for their attractions, although Valencia has always remained in the shadow of the more popular Barcelona among our tourists. In the vicinity of Valencia there is an international airport that accepts flights from different countries, including from Russia.
You need to think about how to get from Valencia to Barcelona at home. After all, one of the methods involves renting a car, which can be arranged directly at the Valencia airport. However, experienced travelers still recommend staying in Valencia for a few days, visiting the famous City of Science and Arts, built in the old bed of the Turia River, discovering the Holy Grail in the local cathedral, and if you're lucky. Every now and then take a walk at the Fallas festival, during which huge figures made of papier-mâché are carried through the streets.
Simple and fast
Probably the fastest, but not the cheapest way to get to Barcelona from Valencia is to use one of the offers of the airlines "Vueling Airlines", "Iberia" and "Iceland Express". The most attractive in terms of cost is the direct flight of Vueling Airlines. A ticket for it costs only $ 55. You will have to spend 55 minutes in the air. However, by this time it is worth adding a couple of hours to go through passport and customs controls at Valencia airport and about half an hour to collect your luggage upon arrival in Barcelona. The plane is preferred by the train and bus by people who have a weak vestibular apparatus and small luggage. Also, a direct flight will be chosen by tourists with small children, who will find it difficult to endure several hours of travel by train. In addition, planes from Valencia to Barcelona fly 10 times a day, which allows you to determine the right time for your own trip.
From Valencia, you can get to the airport by taxi, which will not be very practical on your part, because the minimum cost of such a trip will be 20 euros. It is much more profitable to use the metro (you need to sit at the Xativa station), the regular bus # 150 or the AeroBus shuttle. The cheapest (1.5 euros) is a ticket for a regular bus.
To the squares of Spain and Catalonia, and this is the historical center of Barcelona, where most often tourists choose their hotels, the Aerobus bus runs from El Prat airport with a break of 10 minutes. It stops at Terminals 1 and 2. The fare is about 6 euros. From the airport you can take the RENFE train to Barcelona. You will have to get off at one of three stops (Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gràcia or Clot) where there is a metro connection. It will be quite easy to get to anywhere in the city by metro. The RENFE ticket is not valid on the metro.
