Buses travel to the city of three religions, but the journey will take about six hours. Therefore, it is still better to fly to Tel Aviv.
How to get to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv
Most tourists arriving in Tel Aviv plan to travel further - to Jerusalem. It is easy to get to this city by public transport if you do not want to do it on Shabbat (from mid-Friday to Saturday evening). Otherwise, you will have to wait until the end of Shabbat by staying at the hotel. Most tourists from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem travel by bus. Buses line 405 leave from the main bus station. Another regular bus number 480 connects the stop "Arlazorov Station" in Tel Aviv and the central bus station in Jerusalem. Passengers spend about an hour on the way. Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver. Buses leave every 20 minutes, so there are no queues and rush for these flights.
From Jerusalem Bus Station to the Old City, where the main attractions are located, can be reached by tram, which stops right in front of the central entrance of the bus station. Tram tickets are sold at ticket machines at the stop. The ticket must be validated on the tram, otherwise it will be invalid. How to get to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv using other public transport? You can use the minibus, which also departs from the Tel Aviv bus station. The only drawback of minibuses is the lack of a timetable with the departure of cars. Drivers stand at the bus stop until the passenger compartment is full.
Trains also travel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv. The railway between the two cities is laid in a very picturesque area, so people who first come to Israel should really enjoy traveling to Jerusalem by train, regardless of the length of the trip.
