Features of thermal springs in Slovakia
The natural geothermal springs in Slovakia have restorative and healing properties for humans. On their basis, not only sanatoriums were built, but also thermal water parks and beaches, which are focused on mass recreation. Slovak thermal waters treat diseases of women, spine, gastrointestinal tract, skin diseases, nervous system and musculoskeletal system.
Bojnice
Bojnice is famous for its nine springs, the water temperature of which reaches + 28-52˚C (water is "knocked out" from a depth of 1200-1500 m). Treatment here is indicated for those who experience problems with the nervous system and the motor apparatus, suffer from vegetative-vascular dystonia, and have kidney stones. An individual treatment regimen is developed for each patient, on the basis of which they are prescribed electrotherapy, oxygen therapy, acupuncture, underwater massage, a visit to a salt cave, and swimming in one of the hyper- and isothermal pools.
In between treatments, it is worth visiting the Bojnice Castle (there are features of different architectural styles, but most of all the castle reflects the style of “French romanticism”; the castle can be entered at any time in June-September, and in other months it is a day off on Monday). And if you find yourself here in late April - early May, you will be able to become a participant in the Festival of Spirits and Ghosts, in which theatrical performances are arranged.
Podhaiska
Water (when leaving the well, from a 1900-meter depth, its temperature reaches + 80˚C; 50 liters of water are poured out in a second) from a local thermal spring is poured into 7 pools (one of them is sedentary and one is intended for small vacationers). The healing effect of water will be appreciated by those suffering from rheumatism, osteoporosis, eczema and gout, who have problems with the spine and thyroid gland.
Dudince
In Dudince, you should come to heal your nerves, heart, blood vessels, support and movement apparatus through water, with a temperature of about +30 degrees (its mineralization is 5923 mg / l), but sometimes it is heated up to + 33-37˚C.
Luchki
The thermal springs “Valentina” (+ 32˚C) and “HGL-3” (+ 37˚C) brought fame to the Luchki resort. Luchka's specialization is the treatment of osteoporosis, diseases of the musculoskeletal system and the female sphere. Guests of Aqua Vital Park will be offered to swim in the outdoor preventive (+ 28-33˚C), indoor mineral (+ 33-35 degrees) and sitting pool with thermal water (+ 36-38˚C). Aqua Vital Park is also equipped with a jacuzzi, a turbodush, a Finnish sauna (designed for 16 people), a cold pool and attractions (a climbing wall, chess, a children's trampoline and a swing).
Vysne Ruzbachy
There are 9 springs in Vyshna Ruzbakhi, the water of which is “warmed up” to + 23-36 degrees. Oncology, gynecology, mental deviations, ischemia are diseases that can be treated in the Vysne Ruzbachy spa. The Isabella complex with 1 indoor and 4 outdoor pools (2 of them are for children), as well as a jumping tower (height - 5 m), deserves the attention of the guests.
Sliac
The pride of Sliac is a thermal spring, in the water (+33, 3˚C) of which there is an increased amount of carbon dioxide (98%). She treats people with metabolic problems, in the gynecological field, with skin. An obligatory place to visit is the local bath with 2 thermal pools, next to which there is a park where the chapel of St. Hildegard (built in 1855) is located.
Rajecke Teplice
Thermal water (it contains calcium and magnesium bicarbonate salts) Rajecke Teplice is used in the treatment of arthritis, arthrosis, diseases of the respiratory and nervous systems. The guests of the resort are recommended to visit the following spa centers: “Aphrodite” - for water procedures in the center they use + 38-degree water; "Water World" - equipped with relaxation (water temperature + 37-38˚C) and swimming (water + 30-32 degrees) pools, and there you can also take a Charcot shower.
The thermal complex "Veronica" should not be deprived of attention (it provides visitors with 4 children's and 3 swimming pools for adults; in addition, the complex is equipped with an autodrome, a playground and slides), and the thermal pool "Laura" (in addition to the pool, which is filled with water, with a temperature of +26 degrees, there is an area for playing volleyball and mini-golf, and also a beautiful view of the city opens from here, since “Laura” is located on a hill).
Piestany
People rush to Piestany for 10 springs of hot water (average mineralization, temperature + 67-69 degrees), beating out to the surface from a depth of 2000 meters, as well as for sulfur-containing mud (its purpose is to treat rheumatism and other diseases of the musculoskeletal system). In their free time from recovery, guests of Piestany can go fishing in the Vah River or take part in a river boat trip.
