Modern roads in Poland, as in most European countries, are of high quality, reliability and comfort. To date, the Polish government has decided to distribute all existing roads into the following classes:
- motorways that are marked with the symbol A;
- express roads, which are indicated by the symbol S;
- main roads on which you can move quickly (the symbol GP is used for designation);
- main roads with a G symbol;
- roads of normal purpose for any type of transport (symbol Z is used);
- local roads with the L symbol;
- roads intended for access to houses and buildings (symbol D is used).
Highways and roads in Poland
As in the case of any other European country, Polish roads are very convenient for modern motorists: thanks to this, it is possible to quickly move around the country, getting real pleasure both from the quality of the proposed roads and from the amazing beauty of nature around.
In accordance with the general requirements of the Polish government regarding speed limits on Polish roads and motorways, the type of vehicle should be considered first. For example, owners of cars, motorcycles and trucks up to 3.5 tons are allowed to travel at a speed of up to 140 kilometers per hour. It should be emphasized that the roads in Poland are divided into toll and free roads.
Free Polish roads
You can use the following motorways in Poland free of charge: A6, A8, A18; A2, A4 and A1 on some sections of the route.
Toll Polish motorways
Passenger motor vehicles can also travel on toll roads. Thus, you can buy time, while saving the energy that is required for a long journey. To date, the Polish government has made three motorways toll for passenger cars. These are: A1; A2; A4.
Toll roads in Poland are paid at the entrance to the motorway, as well as at specially designated points located on the motorway and at petrol stations. Taking into account the fact that Poland is a member of the European Union, roads are created and built here exclusively in accordance with European standards. Paid and free Polish highways for various purposes are distinguished by their functionality and full openness to use, both by guests of the country and by Polish citizens themselves.
Regardless of the class of roads, all of them will be really convenient for the motorist: both toll and free roads in Poland are an opportunity to quickly and comfortably get to their destination. Traffic rules in Poland are the same as in almost any European country: the speed of cars and motorcycles is limited to 50 km / h in the city, and outside it - about 90-120 km / h.
