Description of the attraction
Pefkos, or Pefki, is a resort town on the east coast of the Greek island of Rhodes. It is located just a few kilometers from the town of Lindos and about 56 kilometers south of the administrative center of the island - the city of Rhodes.
Until a few decades ago, Pefkos was just a small fishing village nestled along the coastal road connecting Lindos and Lardos. Today, descending the slope of a picturesque hill and buried in pine trees (because of which it actually got its name), Pefkos is rightfully considered one of the best resorts on the island of Rhodes and has a well-developed tourist infrastructure. Here you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay - a huge selection of hotels, villas and apartments, markets, shops, souvenir shops and, of course, many restaurants, taverns and bars.
Pefkos is famous for its magnificent sandy beaches and crystal clear sea. The central beach of the resort was awarded the prestigious Blue Flag in 2008. This is an excellent landscaped beach with sun loungers, sun umbrellas, cozy bars and a variety of water sports for those who like active pastime.
You can diversify your traditional beach holiday by going on a fascinating excursion to Lindos, where you can wander around the Old Town, visit the famous Acropolis of Lindos, from the top of which you can enjoy stunning panoramic views, admire the beautiful old frescoes in the Church of the Virgin Mary and much more.
Pefkos is especially popular with tourists from Scandinavian countries, as well as from Great Britain, Poland, Austria and Germany.
