Just over twelve hours of air travel separates the blessed island of Bali from Moscow. During this time, the time and climatic zones have time to change many times, so that at the exit from the Denpasar International Airport the traveler can breathe in the hot air of a distant tropical island. By the way, a beach vacation in Indonesia is not only Bali resorts, but also surfing in Sumatra and walks in the national parks of Java.

Where to go to sunbathe?

If the range of the flight to the Malay Archipelago does not bother a potential tourist, it is worth deciding and choosing a suitable island, resort, hotel and beach:

  • The largest percentage of guests flying on a beach holiday in Indonesia are sunbathing and swimming in Bali. The island of thousands of temples is adored by surfers, divers, honeymooners, and fans of great spa treatments. A paradise place with perfect service in hotels, regardless of their status and stardom.
  • Java's main resort, Pangandaran, is a Mecca for surfers. Large and stable waves allow you to play your favorite sport almost all year round. Inexperienced swimmers will have to look for quiet coves on the western beach of the resort.
  • The small island of Lombok boasts luxurious beaches, where it is still easy to find a secluded spot for meditation and relaxation one-on-one with the ocean. But the islanders also offer a lot of active entertainment for tourists: from cycling to fishing in the open sea.
  • The beaches of Sumatra are covered with dark coarse sand - the product of ancient volcanoes. It is customary here to combine beach holidays with excursions to national parks. There are found the most amazing humanoid - orangutans and many more wild and rare animals.

Weather features of a beach holiday in Indonesia

Bali's climate is equatorial-monsoon, depending on the seasonal wind directions. It is always hot here, and thermometers show equal values in water and in air almost all year round. From April to mid-October, the dry season prevails in Bali, and the rest of the time the air humidity can reach almost 95%. The temperature ranges from + 27 ° С in June to + 29 ° С in December.

Java guarantees even temperature values around + 28 ° C throughout the year. The reason for this is the tropical climate of the island. The greatest amount of precipitation falls in the period from November to the end of February, but the rest of the time the humidity remains very high. Showers on the island are usually accompanied by thunderstorms and occur in the late afternoon, and therefore do not pose a serious obstacle to beach lovers.

Bali! How much of this sound …

For most Russian travelers, the name of this tropical island still sounds like a magic spell: the flight range and not too attractive prices for it do not allow a dream to come true. However, the advance booking of a tour for a beach vacation in Indonesia and tracking of special offers of airlines bears fruit and the trip is much more profitable and becomes quite affordable.

Bali Island offers a worthy vacation in several popular resorts, among which Kuta is the most popular. It is preferred by young people, for whom real rest begins only after dark, and surfers who know a lot about waves. In Kuta, you can find the most affordable hotel prices and find cheap restaurants where a full meal will cost several dollars.

Side by side with Kuta, Seminyak is adjacent - the resort is respectable enough to be preferred by respectable Europeans. The beaches of Seminyak are cleaner and more well-groomed than their neighbors, and restaurants and hotels are more expensive and pretentious, but this does not mean that in the evenings you will have to be bored here in the company of representative pensioners. Nightclubs and a lot of entertainment are also present in Seminyak. But the resort is not suitable for families with children: surfers will like waves on its beaches more than mothers. The way out is the splash pools in the El Parque Bali complex for family tourists.

The most fashionable Balinese resort of Nusa Dusa has a chain of five-star hotels along the sea. It is preferred by fans of water sports with substantial wallets, golfers and wealthy tourists with children. Evenings in Nusa Dusa are quiet and calm, unlike other hangout places.

Travel to the past

Lombok is often compared to Bali thirty years ago. The island is just beginning to develop its own tourist infrastructure, and therefore it is still not crowded, despite the ideal conditions for a beach holiday. Fortunately, there are still many such places in Indonesia, which is diverse and multifaceted.

The main tourist area of Lombok is called Senggigi. A small fishing village and its surrounding quiet beaches are located in the south of the island, but surfers are more suitable for the northern coast, where decent waves are more frequent.

The easiest way to get to Lombok is by ferry from Padangbai port in the southeast of Bali.

Visiting deer

The islet of Panaitan off the west coast of Java is famous for its One Palm Point surf spot, where the most dangerous waves in the region occur. But it is also popular with those tourists who prefer to swim and sunbathe against the backdrop of virgin nature without any hint of civilization. Suitable quiet and safe bays will be shown by guides organizing trips to Panaitan in Ujung Kulon National Park. The best souvenir from here is a photo with deer and monkeys that are found on the island. There are no hotels on Panaitan, and therefore guests spend the night on board the boat.

Useful information

The most convenient and inexpensive type of rented transport in Indonesia is a scooter. It will cost less if you take it immediately for a week. Traffic jams can be avoided on the scooter, but it is important to follow safety rules and wear a safety helmet.

The vast majority of Indonesians profess Islam, and therefore it would be useful to observe the rules of conduct in public places traditional for such countries.
