The heraldic symbol of this large Siberian settlement was created not so long ago, as, indeed, the city itself. That is why there are no elements associated with deep history or the first symbols in it. The coat of arms of Kemerovo is a vivid representative of the generation of young heraldic signs that reflect the real state of this or that administrative-territorial entity and are directed towards the future.

Description of the emblem of Kemerovo

It is important to note that although the main official symbol of the regional center looks modern, it does not stand out from the general row of Russian coats of arms and emblems. As a basis, a shield was used, which has the so-called French shape. The aspect ratio in it is classic - 9: 8, as is the color palette chosen for the background of the shield and elements.

The authors of the sketch used four colors, the most popular in world heraldry - these are the colors of precious metals (silver and gold), as well as scarlet and black, in which the fields of the shield are painted.

The compositional structure of the Kemerovo coat of arms is simple, all the elements are depicted on the shield. There are no framed symbols, inscriptions at the base, or precious crowns of monarchs common in Russian practice.

The main elements are located on a golden shield, which has two fields (scarlet and black). You can see a stylized image of the following symbols:

  • a silver retort symbolizing the development of the chemical industry in Kemerovo;
  • a fragment of a golden gear that reflects the machine-building industry developed in the region;
  • of golden ears arranged horizontally.

The latter elements can be interpreted in several meanings, firstly, they symbolize a high level of agricultural development in the region. Secondly, they emphasize that soil fertility and, accordingly, large yields are associated with the chemical industry and the production of mineral fertilizers.

Color symbolism

The color palette of the Kemerovo coat of arms is rather laconic and restrained. The modesty of the scale is balanced by the deep meaning with which each element of the heraldic sign of the regional center is endowed. Each color has its own meaning.

The scarlet color is associated with courage, blood shed for the homeland, fame and energy. Black tone, on the one hand, is a direct indication of coal mining in the region, on the other hand, a symbol of being, eternity. Gold and silver symbolize wealth, prosperity, nobility.
