When choosing a beach vacation in India as an option for a vacation or even wintering, you should keep in mind the national peculiarities of the country and the Indian flavor and not wait for a picture in the "Bounty" style: even the best beaches in Goa are far from glossy perfection.
The entire territory of Goa is conditionally divided into north and south:
- The northern part is a place where young people who are looking not only for a beach holiday, but also for an entertainment program, will like it more. North Goa beaches are a strip from Candolim to Arambol.
- The south is preferred by wealthier travelers. Hotels here are more expensive, the environment is quieter, and the beaches are deserted and cleaner. However, the concept of cleanliness in India is very relative, but in the very south you can enjoy both white sand and turquoise waves. The beaches of southern Goa stretch from Majorda to Cavelossim.
On the south bank
The south of the state is home to some of the best beaches in Goa. Some of them are more suitable for renting housing there. Such places boast tourist infrastructure and some semblance of civilization. Other parts of the southern coast of Goa are suitable only for wild camping and solitude and meditation. You will not find restaurants and hotels on them, and therefore they are the most beautiful and cleanest.
Ideal for a fun holiday
The livable beaches of southern Goa are only a few kilometers away from each other. They are easily overcome with a rented scooter. Palolem is located in the middle of the south coast. It has the largest number of hotels and restaurants, as well as palm trees, which is why it is considered the most beautiful.
Pathem is a little further south and quieter. There are hotels and restaurants, but in much smaller numbers.
Agonda Beach, north of Paolem, has many yoga and meditation fans. Despite the ample number of people, restaurants and bungalows, this beach looks quite calm. There is Wi-Fi in many places.
Closer to nature
The quietest and most unsettled best beaches in Goa are hardly mentioned in travel guides. But it is here that you can get the perfect vacation if its goal is to feel like a Robinson.
Cobo de Rama next to the fort of the same name, due to its location on the coast of the bay, boasts a calm sea.
