The oldest zoo in the scientific world in London was founded in 1828 and was originally intended only for research purposes. The first visitors appeared at his aviary only 20 years later, and since then the zoological park of the capital of Great Britain has been a constant success among the inquisitive public.

This is what the official name of the London Zoo looks like on its website and in all reference books. It is sometimes called the Regents Zoo, after the park where it is located. The zoo has no government funding and all of its splendor has been created with private donations and contributions from the Friends member organization. Pride and achievement
Nearly 20,000 animals, representing over 800 species, live at Regents Zoo. The pride of the park is a family of western lowland gorillas, nestled on their own island, and the Rothschild giraffes, which can be observed "face to face" from a high canopy.
In the near future, the administration plans to open a new building "Land of the Lions" in the spring of 2016, reminiscent of the Gir Forest National Park in India.

You can get there:
- Metro. London Zoo is located within walking distance of Camden Town and Regent's Park stations. It takes about half an hour to walk from Baker Street station, so you can take bus line 274 to the Ormond Terrace stop.
- By bus. Route C2 runs from Victoria Station, Oxford Circus or Great Portland Street. The desired stop is Gloucester Gate.
- On a rented car. Parking at the London Zoo is very spacious and there is no entry fee.

The London Zoo is open daily except December 25th. Park opening hours:
- From November 1 to March 31 - from 10.00 to 16.00.
- From April 1 to October 31 - from 10.00 to 17.00.
Ticket offices stop selling tickets one hour earlier. At the same time, the gate to the entrance is also closed. Some animal enclosures may be unavailable up to 30 minutes before the official closing time.
The entrance price on the park's website is the most favorable. Plus, online booking helps you avoid queues. Ticket prices at the park's ticket offices (in British pounds) are about 10% higher and look like this:
- Adults - 24.30.
- Children from 3 to 15 years old - 17.10.
- Elderly visitors, students and adults with disabilities - 21.87.
- Children under 3 years old - free.
To confirm the right to benefits, you will have to present an identity document with a photo.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult in the park. Dogs are not allowed, and bicycles should be left in a dedicated parking lot. Visitors on rollers and skateboards are not allowed to enter the park.
