Even the inhabitants of Riga, who have been living among these cobbled streets and urban landscapes that have already become familiar to the eye for many years, admit with surprise and enthusiasm that the observation platforms of Riga allow them to discover the city in a new way. This is an opportunity not only to see, but to feel the rhythm of the city and all its charm, complemented by the salty breath of the Gulf of Riga.

In the city you can find observation platforms that allow you to observe city panoramas from a bird's eye view, take unique photos and just enjoy the feeling of freedom …

Where are the best viewpoints in Riga located?

The main attraction of the city is the Church of St. Peter, in the tower of which there is an excellent observation deck. By the way, this is the tallest church tower in the city. The site is located at a height of 73 meters, the ascent to it is carried out by an elevator. From here, all of Riga, as if in the palm of your hand, stretches with smooth streets and intricate turns in all directions. You can clearly see the tiled roofs of old houses, the majestic Daugava, and white or gray skyscrapers, which are clearly visible among green spaces and park areas. And even such "piquancy" as the terraces and recreation areas located on the roofs of private houses will not hide from the eyes of curious tourists. The main observation deck of Riga is available for visiting all days except Monday, it is open until 18:30 (in summer). Entrance to the site - LVL 5.

What other observation decks are there in Riga? A similar function is perfectly performed by the glazed upper floors of high-rise buildings of a modern metropolis, which have already become almost traditional. The upper floors of the Hotel Islande, Albert Hotel, as well as the 26th floor of the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija (formerly the Latvija hotel) are publicly available as a viewing platform.

Another observation deck is located on the 17th floor of the "House of the Collective Farmer" (Academy of Sciences) and has recently become available to the public. From here you can clearly see how the life of a modern city is "boiling" - the Central Market with its daily and usual hustle and bustle, a railway bridge with a series of wagons carrying various cargo, as well as many sights in a new and interesting perspective.

The highest observation deck in Riga - the City TV Tower

The height of the TV tower is 368 meters, it is the tallest structure of its kind not only in Riga, but throughout Latvia as a whole. The observation deck is located at an altitude of 98 meters, but this does not detract from the beauty of the picture and a slight burst of adrenaline in the body when looking down from here.

The magnificent panorama that opens up to the gaze of the observer through the glass windows captures not only the landscapes and sights of the city, but also the Riga Hydroelectric Power Station, CHP-2 (slender tower), the city port, and in clear and sunny weather, you can even see the Sigulda toboggan run in the distance.

The Riga TV Tower Observation Deck is open until 20:00 (during the summer season). However, groups should sign up for excursions in advance.
