More than two hundred airports are scattered across the vast territory of the Celestial Empire, and the Chinese, like their foreign guests, prefer to travel by air so as not to waste precious time on ground travel. The number of international airports in China is no less impressive, because almost every large city here has its own air harbor.
China International Airports
Flights from Russia are operated to several Chinese airports, and therefore they are of particular interest to domestic tourists:
- The capital's air gate is located 32 km northeast of the historic center of Beijing.
- Hong Kong Airport is located on an artificial island, and its terminal at the time of opening in 1998 was the largest in the world.
- The China International Airport in Shanghai is the largest in Asia and the third busiest on the planet.
- Despite its not too large size, Macau Airport receives up to 6 million people annually.
Metropolitan direction
China Airport in Beijing has the second largest passenger terminal on the planet after Dubai. From here, flights to 120 cities of the world are carried out, and several dozen airlines act as partners of the airport. Direct flights of Aeroflot, Air China, S7 and Ural Airlines fly here from Russia. Travel time between the capitals is 7.5 hours.
Buses run between the three terminals, and transfers to the city are carried out by metro line that runs in Terminals 2 and 3, by buses to Beijing on 11 different routes, and by taxi. The latter option is the most expensive, and a trip to the center will cost about $ 25 (prices as of August 2015).
To beach resorts
Haikou Meilan Airport on Hainan Island accepts seasonal charters from Moscow and many regular flights from all cities of the Middle Kingdom. The commissioning of the new terminal allowed this airport in China to become the second largest airport in the province in terms of passenger turnover. All the necessary infrastructure is at the service of those waiting for their flight to Haikou Meilan: from shops and restaurants to currency exchange offices and massage parlors. The transfer to Haikou city takes half an hour by taxi and costs no more than $ 10.
Note to businessmen
The airport in a large business center of Asia receives and dispatches planes to 45 cities in China and to dozens of other places on the world map. Aeroflot flies to Hong Kong directly from Moscow, and S7 - from Vladivostok, travel time is 10 and 5 hours, respectively. In addition, you can get to Hong Kong on the wings of Japanese, German, Indian, Canadian, Turkish, British, Dubai airlines.
