The trip to Russia will turn out to be incredibly interesting and eventful. After all, this is a huge country, offering many interesting places to visit.
Public transport
The main intracity transport is buses. Large cities have tram and trolleybus lines.
Tickets for the trip can be bought either at a special kiosk, or from the conductor, or from the driver. This will depend on the city. If you want to save money, then it is recommended to buy travel tickets.
There is a metro only with 7 cities: Moscow; St. Petersburg; Samara; Nizhny Novgorod; Kazan; Ekaterinburg; Novosibirsk.
Taxi
If necessary, you can order a car by phone, take it at a specialized parking lot, or simply catch it in the street traffic. Tariffs are different everywhere.
Transport of Moscow
The most convenient way to get around is by metro. It is open from 5:30 am to 1 am. In total, the metro includes 12 lines.
In addition to the metro, you can get around Moscow by buses, trolleybuses and trams. Please note that entrance is always through the front doors. The fare is paid for the "electronic conductor", i.e. the ticket purchased for the trip must be redeemed at the machine. The driver must be warned about his exit in advance by pressing the bell button. They go out into any of the doors except the front one.
It is convenient to move around the city by minibuses or taxis.
Air transport
There are more than 200 airport complexes in the country. International flights are accepted by 71 airports.
The main air hub of the country is Moscow. There are four passenger complexes in total: Sheremetyevo; Domodedovo; Vnukovo; Bykovo.
Railway transport
The total length of the tracks is 86,000 kilometers, 50% of them are electrified.
For the European part of the country, a radial type of road arrangement is characteristic. They all converge in Moscow. The latitudinal location has been chosen for the Asian part of the country.
Transportation is handled by the only company - Russian Railways (RZD).
Suburban communication is well organized in the country. By train, you can get to any major city, or go to the neighboring region.
Water transport
Water transport is especially revered by tourists, but due to the short navigation period, it is inaccessible for most of the year. The most popular cruises are the Volga, Yenisei, Lake Baikal and Karelian lakes.
Car rental
You can rent a car in any major city. But it is worth remembering that traffic in cities is very intense, and therefore traffic jams are not uncommon here. In addition, the quality of the roads connecting the cities leaves much to be desired.
