For many travelers who are not too familiar with the tourist opportunities of Central Asia, information about the ski resorts of Uzbekistan becomes a real discovery. It would seem that in a country of deserts and unmerciful temperature values that make the thermometer columns tend upward indefinitely, skiing cannot be discussed in principle.
It turns out that the ski resorts of Uzbekistan exist only a few tens of kilometers from the capital, and the skiing season starts there in early December:
- The Chimgan ski base is located at an altitude of more than one and a half thousand meters above sea level in the mountains of the Chatkal ridge. In translation, Chimgan is a "green slope", but from December to March quite serious ski slopes are laid here, marked with "red". Novice athletes in this resort of Uzbekistan have plenty of space - many short slopes, experienced instructors, "green" slopes and equipment rental centers will help them fall in love with skiing once and for all.
- The Uzbek resort Beldersay is distinguished by a particularly long season. They begin to ride here in November, and the last fans of flying down the slope with a breeze meet on the local tracks until mid-May. This resort has FIS certified giant slalom and special slalom slopes, which means that the level of preparation of the slopes here is very high. The presence of the "black" slope makes Beldersay very attractive for very experienced skiers, and the possibility of heli-skiing attracts wealthy fans of winter extreme to the resort.
