The weather in the northern part of the country is influenced by air masses coming from the north Atlantic. To a lesser extent, the influence of the Arctic Ocean is manifested. The microclimate is formed under the influence of the river network. The territory of Ukraine is almost entirely in the zone of the temperate continental climate. There are clearly marked seasons, long and warm summers, as well as moderately cold winters. In the northeast, the climate is considered continental. In summer, the maximum air temperature is +35 degrees, in winter it can be -35 degrees.

The ethnic composition in this area is peculiar. There are a lot of Belarusians, Poles and Jews among the population. Kiev is considered a multinational city. For communication, the inhabitants of Northern Ukraine use Ukrainian and Russian languages, as well as surzhik (a mixture of Russian with Ukrainian). In the northwest, the impact of the Belarusian language was previously noticeable.
