The main modes of transport in Singapore:
- Public transport: it is represented by fixed-route taxis, metro, buses, funiculars.

Taxi
Taxi services on the island are provided by 4 taxi companies: all cars are equipped with meters, so payment must be made according to its indications.
In general, taxi fares are not very expensive, but from 23:00 there is a night tariff that increases the cost of the trip by 50%.
You can pay in a taxi with cash or credit cards, but in the latter case, you will be charged a small commission.
Traveling by cycle rickshaws will cost more (you need to negotiate the price before setting off) than by taxi, but many tourists prefer to travel on them in order to feel the Asian exoticism.
Car rent
Renting a car on the island is an expensive service (about $ 150 / day), but you only need a passport and a driver's license to conclude a lease (minimum age is 18).
It should be noted that there is a left-hand traffic in Singapore and, in addition, compliance with traffic rules is strictly controlled on the island. So, for driving without a seat belt and with the headlights off from 7 pm to 7 am and other violations, a system of fines is provided.
