Description of the attraction
Opened in 1973, Singapore Zoo is one of the country's most attractive landmarks. Here you can find a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and insects. The main task of the zoo employees is to create the most natural conditions suitable not only for life, but also for the reproduction of animals. This zoo is one of the few in the world to recreate natural ecosystems for captive animals, from deserts to tropical jungles. There are no artificial fences or cages. Water canals and ditches serve as barriers. The Singapore Zoo contains more than 2, 5 thousand individuals, a third of which are on the verge of extinction. Among them are orangutans, manatees, white rhino and many others.
Locals recommend that guests of the city spend the whole day on a tour of the zoo in order to fully enjoy the interaction with wildlife. The zoo hosts various entertainment events in which the animals themselves take part: Indian elephants, chimpanzees, sea lions, huge turtles. Those wishing to get to know the wild world better can take part in feeding any animal they like. For lovers of nightlife, the zoo staff arrange "Night Safari", which is a tour of the park at night. From the window of the electric bus, visitors can observe the nocturnal animals, listen to a short story by the guide about the peculiarities of these representatives of the fauna.
Despite the fact that the zoo occupies a considerable area - about 28 hectares, it is impossible to get lost here, since signs in English are installed everywhere.
