Summer in Europe is the height of the tourist season: warm, relatively dry, long daylight hours, many historical monuments and a kaleidoscope of educational and entertainment events. Switzerland sacrifices its usual neutrality and widens all the doors and gates for the tourist.
Holidays in Switzerland in July, regardless of the possible vagaries of the weather, will be pleasant in all respects. Picturesque lakes, beautiful coastal landscapes, healing springs or shopping (which for many women has the same effect) are all abundant in a small European country. And also the cordiality and hospitality of the locals.
July weather
Since Switzerland is a small but mountainous country, the temperature regime is not the same. Geneva and Zurich will delight you with quite nice summer temperatures of + 24 ºC. Such indicators are noted on thermometers, of course, in the daytime, with the arrival of the dark it becomes much cooler, up to +14 ºC.
This country, unfortunately, has no access to the seas and oceans, but it is proud of its lakes, the temperature in which warms up to +24 ºC during these July days.
Everything for tourists
The Swiss are very proud of the country's natural attractions and have developed many hiking trails for all categories of tourists. Lovers of mountain landscapes go to conquer the highest peaks or simply enjoy the beauty of nature.
Some people choose not walking, but horse routes, there is an opportunity to try out a new, or rather, very old, type of transport (horseback riding) and see much more during the trip. In addition, relaxation includes swimming and sunbathing, exploring local attractions and traditional Swiss cuisine.
Theater and opera
Tourists who dream of combining outdoor recreation with a visit to some large-scale cultural project will be lucky. Near Interlaken, in the Rügen Forest, every July there is a celebration in honor of the famous Friedrich Schiller. Professional actors and members of amateur groups surprise numerous spectators with theatrical performances. The final performance will involve almost 200 actors in a magical action, and they will be accompanied by no less talented animals.
The Opera Festival takes place in Avanche around the same time. The difference between the holiday and other musical events is that all performances take place on the stage of the amphitheater, which has seen the masters of the vocal art of Ancient Rome.
