The holiday season in Croatia lasts all year round, but a more favorable time to visit the country is May-October. As for the "low" season, excursion and health programs are very popular here.

Features of rest in Croatian resorts by seasons

  • Spring: early spring is characterized by light rainfall, and from April you can go on sightseeing tours. As for May, in most areas it becomes warm in order to sunbathe on the seashore (air temperature + 22-23 degrees).
  • Summer: This time of the year is a great time to relax in seaside resorts (swimming, water activities). It is quite hot in July and August, but the high temperatures are easily tolerated thanks to the breezes constantly blowing from the sea.
  • Autumn: in the first half of autumn it is warm in Croatia (with the exception of mountainous and some central regions), which contributes to beach and active recreation (yachting, diving, fishing, canyoning). But in October-November, the sky is often covered with rain clouds (air temperature + 12-18 degrees).
  • Winter: December-March, it is advisable to devote to recreation at the Croatian ski resorts. Thanks to the artificial snowmaking system, there is never a shortage of snow cover. In addition, in winter you will have the opportunity to watch slalom competitions. It should be noted that in general it is not cold in winter (0- + 10 degrees).

Beach season in Croatia

You can swim in Croatian resorts from May to the end of September. Resting in the country during the "velvet" season (September), you should give preference to the southern resorts - Split or Dubrovnik (at this time of the year it is warmer here).

In Dubrovnik, on the islands of Krk, Hvar, Korcula, Lopud, you will find sandy, and in Central and South Dalmatia - small pebble beaches. In addition, the country has artificial beaches (a beach area organized by hotels for their guests) - they are mainly concentrated on the Istrian peninsula. Most Croatian beaches have been awarded blue flags. Some of the best Croatian beaches are Punta Rata (Brela town), Drazica (Biograd town), Zlatni Rat (Brac island), Lokrum (Dubrovnik town).

Diving

The diving season in Croatia lasts from May to November.

In the Adriatic Sea you can do reef, cave and wreck diving. In the local waters you will come across colorful corals and algae, European lobsters, octopuses, starfish, sponges, anemones, scallops, as well as sunken ships. It is worth considering that there are wrecks in the country, which you can dive into, either by obtaining permission from the Ministry of Culture, or using the services of a licensed dive center. Such racks are Coriolanus, Baron Gouch, St. Stephen, Hans Schmitt, S 57, B-24 aircraft.

If you decide to relax in a calm, beautiful and one of the environmentally friendly countries with a rich historical past and folk traditions, as well as enjoy delicious national cuisine, then feel free to go to Croatia.
