A not very popular tourist destination in the direction of Pakistan is explained by the difficult situation on its territory, and the lack of developed infrastructure, and the inability to spend a vacation on the beach, as the overwhelming majority of Russian tourists want. Despite the fact that the sea of Pakistan is warm and clean, it is not accepted to sunbathe and swim here, and therefore tours to the country can only have an excursion direction.

A bit of geography

And yet, to the question of which sea washes Pakistan, the globe and maps give a very definite answer - the Arabian one. It belongs to the Indian Ocean basin and is bounded by the Arabian and Hindustan peninsulas. In past times and among different peoples, the Arabian Sea was called the Green Sea, the Ottoman Sea and the Sindhu Sea, and European navigators also called it Persian and Indo-Arab in honor of the countries whose shores it washes.

The climate on the coast of Pakistan is tropical. The weather is determined by the monsoons, and summer and autumn are the time of typhoons. The water temperature in the Pakistani sea is practically not subject to seasonal fluctuations and ranges from +23 to +27 degrees in winter and a little more - up to +29 degrees - in summer.

Interesting Facts

  • The Arabian Sea is very salty. This is due to the proximity of the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. The mineral content in the water exceeds 35 ppm, especially during monsoons coming from the northeast.
  • One more atypical answer can be given to the question which seas are in Pakistan - seas with strange islands. Large islands drift in the water area of the Arabian Sea, where unique nature has been preserved, and their inhabitants are not found anywhere else on the planet.
  • The Pakistani island of Astola is home to green sea turtles and is a popular local ecotourism destination.
  • Socotra Island in the Arabian Sea is famous for its unique plants. Their unusual appearance is impressive even in photographs. One third of the total amount of local flora grows only on this land area.
  • The deepest sea in Pakistan is 4650 meters, and its area exceeds 3.8 million km.

Historical monuments

Among the historical and architectural monuments of Pakistan is the ancient city of Tatt, located a few tens of kilometers from the coast of the Arabian Sea. The city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is considered the most important site for the development of tourism in the country.
