One of the nine Croatian airports is located in the city of Pula. Pula Airport is located about 5 kilometers from the center of the city of the same name. Before World War II, there were only two airstrips, which were used by the Yugoslav People's Army until 1967. After that, they were used exclusively for civilian purposes.

The airport in Pula has a total of eight shareholders, the largest of which is the state with 55% of the company's shares. Istrian County and the town of Poroch each have 15%. The remaining shares are divided in smaller quantities between the cities of Pula, Labin, Rovinj, Pazin and Buje.

Due to its favorable location, the airport in Pula often acts as an alternate airport for the nearest airports in Slovenia, Italy and Austria. About 400 thousand passengers are served here annually. The airport has only one runway, which is capable of receiving heavy ships - Boeing 747 and Il-86.

After the Croatian War of Independence, the airport in Pula stopped operating flights to Belgrade. Since 2006, there have been talks about the resumption of regular flights between these cities.

It should be said that the airport in Pula ranks first among its customers in terms of the quality of service. It bypasses the airports of Malta, Ibiza and Tenerife.

Services

The airport in Pula offers its passengers all the services they need on the road. Of course, you shouldn't count on a huge list, since the terminal building, like the airport itself, is small.

On the territory of the terminal you can find several cafes, shops with various goods.

If necessary, passengers can always go to the first-aid post or buy the necessary medicines at the pharmacy.

The airport in Pula offers business class travelers a separate lounge.

There are standard services - ATMs, post office, Internet, left-luggage office, etc.

How to get there

The airport does not have a regular bus service to the city. The transport infrastructure is taxi-oriented. The cost of a taxi service will cost about 3 euros for landing and 1, 7 for each kilometer.

The bus can only be reached if provided by the tour operator. There is also a regular bus service, but this movement is focused on the Ryanair flight schedule.
