The air company jointly based with Russian Air Force units, the airport in Pskov, is currently the only company that carries out international passenger air transportation in the region. Its runway with a length of 2.5 kilometers is capable of receiving aircraft of 2, 3, 4 classes and helicopters of all types.
The main air carrier Pskovavia has a permanent location at the Pskov airport and operates regular flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Apatity four times a week (all days except Tuesday and Sunday). And also, as required, makes charter flights to popular tourist countries. The airport's capacity is 150 passengers per hour.
History
The use of the airport for passenger transportation ceased in the early 90s, due to the onset of the economic crisis in the country. However, in 2002, Eurasia Airlines restored several air lines on the Pskov-Moscow route, but it soon turned out that such flights did not pay off. And until 2006, the Pskov airport again stopped civil traffic.
In 2006, the Russian airline Vyborg tried to restore the route. In the same year, the runway was reconstructed and re-equipped to meet the requirements of international standards, conditions were created for servicing passengers, and measures were taken to improve the meteorological support of flights.
Since 2007, the administration of the Pskov region has begun to implement a program for the development of aviation services in the region. Substantial investments were allocated from the budget for the reorganization and technical re-equipment of the airport in Pskov.
Currently, it is a modern airline serving about 10 thousand passengers a year.
