Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, has the name "Key-El" among the inhabitants. The city is located on the Malacca Peninsula, at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers. There are no beaches in Kuala Lumpur. But you can get to Langkawi or Penang. It will take a long time to get there, and it is expensive. But the appearance of the local sights can be admired enough.

Beaches in Langkawi

The best sea is located in Langkawi. Once here, you can go to Chenang Beach with a fairly developed infrastructure and very pretty landscapes. In addition, you can get to it from the airport in just 10 minutes. Tengah beach looks no less beautiful. The sea is calm and clean. Those looking for privacy and peace, especially during the day, are advised to visit the beach near the airport. Life on it begins only closer to the night, and mainly locals come here.

Beaches in Penang

Penang is famous for its attractions. Among the beaches are Ferringhi Beach in Bath. You can stay in local luxury hotels, wander along the golden sands of the coast, or go horseback riding.

The most popular and best beaches on the island are:

  1. Teluk Bahang (located on the outskirts of the island from the west);
  2. Tanjung Bungah is famous for its reefs and vegetation;
  3. Telun Bahang, where there are several secluded coves.

The season on local beaches starts in January.

Beach at Port Dickson

Alternatively, you can go to the port of Dikson. There is no particular comfort here, the water is cloudy and in general it is not very safe to swim here (there is a large oil refining complex nearby). On the other side are the islands of Pankor and Kuantan, with more or less well-equipped beaches. You can drop by Genting and Fraiser Hill and take a refreshing dip in the local waters.

Unfortunately, Kuala Lumpur does not have a lot of beaches near the city. The purity of the water can also be judged in two ways. On the one hand, most of the coastal waters are very muddy. Perhaps this fact makes the beaches along the coast of the city so unpopular. For example, on the beach in the vicinity of the port of Dickson and nearby hotels, there are almost no people. On the other hand, there are also areas of the sea with fairly transparent water, only the depth in such areas is small.

Beaches on Redang Island

The best way to go is Redang Island. The beaches here are very beautiful, with white sand and sky-blue water. Local exotic flora is no less impressive. It is not in vain that Redang received the title of one of the most beautiful marine parks in Malaysia for such beauty. The rich water world in these places offers great opportunities for diving.

As such, the best sandy beaches in Kuala Lumpur are concentrated on the nearby islands. Of course, for those who have visited the city, this location seems very inconvenient, but for the purity of the water and the beauty of the surrounding vegetation, you can safely put the highest score.
