Description of the attraction
The Museum of Medieval Knighthood is one of the private museums in Polotsk. The exposition of the museum is presented in three halls. Here you will see the interiors of an old medieval castle and household items. The museum displays knightly armor, weapons and equipment: bows, arrows, crossbows, edged weapons.
The entire text of the excursion is recorded on a disc, which is included both for groups and for individual tourists. From an informative and exciting excursion, you will learn more not only about chivalry, but also about the development of knightly culture in Polotsk. Sometimes the excursion is conducted by the owner of the museum.
Of particular interest is the torture chamber - a brick room, where the tools of the foremen's work are shown, as well as a skeleton sitting in shackles. One of the townspeople donated an ancient rare icon to the museum. Now everyone can admire her in the torture room - she is the only one giving hope to the prisoners of the medieval museum castle.
The museum exposition was not a professional historian or archaeologist, but a descendant of a noble family, tracing its lineage from the Rurikovichs. Nevertheless, there is something to see in the museum.
The museum actively participates in knightly festivals annually held in the oldest city of Belarus - Polotsk. The museum is a member of the European action Museum Night - this is the only night of the year when museums open their doors at night. The action promotes the popularization of museums among the younger generation, and also contributes to the development of tourism.
There is a souvenir shop at the museum, where everyone can buy a small figurine of a knight in armor, chests, books, magnets, as well as a knight's treat for the hungry.

After the tour, he became interested in history, and this makes me happy.
