Description of the attraction

The Picasso Museum attracts tourists from all over the world, not only for its rich content, but also for the location of the exhibition. The collection of the museum is kept in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city of the 19th century.

The collection of the museum contains paintings painted by the famous artist in the last 20 years of his creative activity. It is believed that this period was the most productive, therefore it is of the greatest interest to connoisseurs of art. But this period also causes heated debate among art critics all over the world. The interest is due to the fact that the creations created by the artist at this time are characterized only as “artistic hooliganism”, as if Picasso had re-started the search for his place in painting and the creative “I”. The paintings of this period are distinguished by a riot of colors and indescribable artistic audacity, as if a feeling of dissatisfaction from everything that was done earlier oozes from them.

In addition to paintings by Picasso, there are also paintings by other artists, whose works belong to the direction called "New Time". These include Cezanne, Chagall, Monet, Matisse, Utrillo and others. A special place is given to the collection of paintings by Paul Klee, as well as a rare collection of photographs, the authorship of which belongs to David Douglas, who gained worldwide fame thanks to his photographs for Life magazine. It was he who captured Pablo Picasso on film in various everyday situations. This collection contains over 200 photographs.

Everything in the museum was collected by father and daughter Siegfried and Angela Rosengart.
