Borjomi History Museum (Museum of Local Lore) is one of the oldest museums in Georgia and a place where you can learn a lot of interesting and new things about the history of the city of Borjomi. The museum has a rich collection of archaeological finds and art from the region.
The Museum of the History of the City is located in a historical building made in a pseudo-Gothic style. The museum building was built in 1890 as the office of the imperial family of the Romanovs. The author of this project was a German architect-engineer - Schweier.
Borjomi Museum consists of several departments: history and archeology, ethnography, applied art and nature of Borjomi. The museum has a large number of exhibits that can attract the attention of sophisticated tourists.
The first floor of the Borjomi History Museum is dedicated to history and archeology. Here you can see the surviving examples of bronze weapons and decorations of the 1st-2nd centuries.
