Description of the attraction
Madhabkunda Falls is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bangladesh. This is one of the largest waterfalls in the country. Located in Barlekha Upaliza, 72 km from Maulvibazar, and 72 km from the town of Sylhet.
The huge boulders, the surrounding forest and adjacent streams attract many tourists, there are excursions with departure and two or three nights, as well as day trips. The streams of water falling from a rift in the rock from a height of about 60 meters, bright greenery, the lake formed below will not leave indifferent visitors.
You can get to Madhabkunda waterfall from Sylhet and Maulvibazar by road, or from Kulaura Junction by train, and then you should take an auto-rickshaw. Traveling to Madhabkunda itself is quite exotic. Along the way, tourists can see the beauty of green tea plantations in the hills, driving along serpentine zig-zag roads. Rubber and lemon plantings form a beautiful landscape.
Around the waterfall, the government has organized a park where you can see exotic plants, elephants and other wild animals. As a tourist site, it is proposed to visit the village of the Khashia tribe. Hotels have been built for tourists, there are restaurants with a good variety of cuisine.
The optimal time to visit is from November to March, when the weather is relatively cool and there is not a lot of rainfall.
