Description of the attraction
The highest waterfall in Serbia is called Jelovarnik, and it is located in the Kopaonik National Park. The waterfall is over 70 meters high. He himself is at an altitude of about one and a half thousand meters. One of the cities closest to the waterfall is Brus. The nearest peak is Pancic Peak (or Pancichev vrh, named after biologist Josef Pancic, his mausoleum is located on this peak). Locals knew about this beautiful waterfall with three cascades for a long time, but for the first time this attraction was described only in the late 90s of the last century. Several species of rare birds live in the vicinity of the waterfall.
The area in which Jelovarnik is located is characterized as inaccessible, wooded, but the Kopaonik Park itself is a rather "inhabited" and hospitable place, because in Serbia this name is not only a mountain range, but also a large ski resort with appropriate infrastructure.
In winter they go downhill skiing here, and at other times of the year they admire the lush forest greenery, observe the Red Book animals, breathe clean mountain air and get acquainted with historical sights - such as the surviving fragments of ancient roads and churches, several monasteries (Zicha, Studenica, Sopochany), built many centuries ago.
The most mysterious attraction of Kopaonik is considered to be the Devil's City - an area covered with clay pillars with stone tops. And the most curative are the hot springs of Josanichka Banya and Kursumlidshska Banya, in one of which the water temperature reaches 90 degrees. There are other springs in Kopaonik - smaller in size and with cooler water, from 36 to 80 degrees.
