Description of the attraction
You can get to the Peter and Paul Forest Park, located on the slope of one of the hills surrounding St. Gallen, by bus from the train station. You need to get off at the Rotmont stop (this is the name of the hill where the park is located) and walk to the entrance to Peter and Paul, which can rather be called a mini-zoo. True, here in special enclosures, collected by a net with a current supplied to it for the safety of both animals and people, rather simple animals that are found in Switzerland are collected: deer, marmots, fallow deer. wild boars, lynxes, wild cats, cows, etc.
The information center specialists will help you to understand the location of the enclosures. Perhaps the most interesting for people of all ages will be a visit to the central office of the wildlife park. Here are presented various materials about all local representatives of the fauna, as well as skins, horns, and hooves of their relatives. In the center, you can also listen to the sounds of certain animals and watch short videos about the habits of the favorites of St. Gallen's children. Schoolchildren and toddlers from kindergartens often come to the Peter and Paul forest park on excursions.
The park occupies a picturesque area, where there are several observation platforms, from where you can see the whole of St. Gallen at a glance. The entrance to the forest park is free. After a long and pleasant walk, you can relax while enjoying delicious traditional Swiss cuisine in the local restaurant Peter and Paul, which has a terrace.
The forest park is open all year round.
