During the period of violent and destructive events of the Great Patriotic War, the Bridge of lovers happily survived. In the post-war decades, the chief architect of the city, Alexander Vlasov, on the slopes of the Dnieper, arranged an extensive leisure zone - the Central Park of Culture and Leisure. The park road became the pivot of this zone. It connected Petrovskaya Alley and Dnieper Descent.
In 1983, the old bridge was completely removed with the help of a crane and a new one was erected in its place, which fell in love with the romantics of the capital. Here, lovers have a date, offer a hand and a heart. So the bridge became the "Bridge of Lovers", and it is under this name that it is recommended to the guests of the capital.
