Description of the attraction
The installation of the Guardian Angel of Ukraine monument in Kirovograd was timed to coincide with the 2000th anniversary of the Nativity of Christ and in honor of the 250th anniversary of the city. The monument is a majestic and impressive sight. The perimeter of the base of the column is marked with an inscription that reads: "God save the Ukraine."
The monument to the Guardian Angel was created in creative tandem by sculptor A. Gonchar and architect V. Krivenko, and the idea belongs to Vasily Mukhin. To create the monument, the craftsmen used granites mined at the Kapustinsky, Krupsky and Voinovsky deposits. In the area of the monument, 2 thousand square meters of paving stones were laid, and three and a half hundred square meters of various architectural and construction products were used for installations. This is the only monument of its kind in Ukraine.
The completion of the construction of the memorial sign took place in 2004 on September 17. The magnificent granite image of the Angel stretching out his hands over the expanses of Ukraine attracts the attention of both local residents and guests of the city.
