Description of the attraction
The Kiev State Operetta Theater opened in 1934. Then it was called the Kiev Theater of Musical Comedy (later it was renamed the Kiev State Operetta Theater - this happened in 1966). In the modern world, especially if we take into account the qualitatively new needs of the viewer and the modernization of society, the artists of the Kiev State Operetta Theater have long-term plans for the development of theatrical art. First of all, they strive to make its image as modern as possible, while simultaneously using the old traditions of the operetta theater, making the theater even closer to the needs of the young audience.
For this reason, alongside traditional popular operettas, there are also - and very successfully - staging of musicals, musically plastic acts, musical performances, and show programs. Young actors and new directors are invited to cooperate.
Today, the theater's repertoire includes sixteen different performances: musical fairy tales, musical comedies, musicals and operettas.
"Theater in the Foyer" - Chamber stage of the Kiev Operetta Theater - was opened in 2004. Among the huge number of authors who turn to the prospects of the chamber theater, one of the most popular and outstanding meters is the founder of the operetta genre, the French composer Jacques Offenbach. The first performance of "Theater in the Foyer" was his one-act operetta "A Supper Invited by the Book of Artists".
