The Ivanovo Chintz Museum is the youngest branch of the Ivanovo State Historical and Local Lore Museum named after D. G. Burylin. The basis of the museum's exposition is a unique textile collection, numbering about half a million items.

The central exposition of the museum is the exposition entitled “Ivanovo textiles. History and Modernity . She tells visitors about the formation and flourishing of textile production in the Ivanovo region from the most ancient times to the present. The exposition is based on a unique collection of fabrics, the acquisition of which began at the end of the 19th century. Close attention is paid to the demonstration of textile products as works of decorative and applied art.

The main idea of the exposition is to show the Ivanovo chintz, which are one of the types of decorative and applied art and preserve and develop the traditions of folk ornament that have been formed over many centuries and meet the needs of the broad strata of the Russian population. The collection of chintz is very diverse. It demonstrates a significant layer of folk art in the area of textile decoration and allows tracing the development of a special style - bright, decorative, elegant, inherent in Ivanovo fabrics.
