The Church in honor of the Nativity of Christ in the city of Borisov is one of the youngest churches. There is a small brick church on the outskirts of the ancient city of Borisov, like a toy.
The Christmas Church in Borisov is a monument of true faith and devotion to God. It was not built by an ancient righteous man, but by our contemporary, who miraculously escaped death during the war and vowed to build a temple. It was good for knights and kings to make such vows, but how can a Soviet pensioner and a disabled person fulfill it?
All his life Mikhail Martynovich Volosach saved money to build a church in his hometown. He read that there was once in Borisov the church of the holy Martyr Julia of Carthage. The feat of this martyr lies in her devotion to the Christian faith among the pagans.
In 1993, when the opportunity arose to build and open churches in Belarus, Mikhail Martynovich achieved the registration of the community in 1993 and received permission to build a temple.
Construction began, in which no one believed. People laughed at the pensioner with his pitiful money. At his own expense, Mikhail Martynovich was able to build only the foundation. Only now did he realize what an overwhelming task he had begun. Despair seized him, but he still continued to pray and ask Orthodox Christians for help. And in 1994, construction was resumed. From the world to the thread. Someone carried money, someone bricks, someone volunteered to help in construction, someone prayed.
In 1996, the lower temple was consecrated in honor of Julia of Carthage. On the eve of Christmas 2000, the upper church was consecrated - in honor of the Nativity of Christ.
