Description of the attraction

Trinitarian Church is one of the sights of the city of Kamenets-Podolsky. Its unique feature is that the church has completely retained its appearance since the Baroque period, from 1750-1765. Its facade is decorated with various types of sculptures and beautiful vases. The fence is stone walls and gates, which are decorated with statues of Jean de Mat and Felix de Valois - the founders of the Trinitarian order, whose task was to ransom the captured Christians from Muslims.

In the church itself, earlier one could find seven altars, the main one was laid out of stone and can be seen in our time. This altar was dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The six other altars were considered side altars.

In 1917, the church was somewhat damaged, but during its restoration the interior was not changed at all. After World War II, as in many other churches, an archive was organized here, which belonged to the funds of the entire Khmelnytsky region. Today the Trinitarian Church belongs to the Greek Catholics.

Since it was decided to move the archive to the regional center in the 90s, the community of Greek Catholics was able to restore the Trinitarian Church and consecrate it again in honor of the Holy Martyr Josaphat. And from 1992 to the present day, divine services are regularly held here.

A wooden iconostasis is installed in the southern part of the church. The statue of the Mother of God was installed at the main altar, in a niche.
