Description of the attraction
The Russian Submarine Museum (Submarine) is located in Moscow, in the Severnoye Tushino park. The museum was opened in 2003.
The museum and memorial complex of the history of the Russian Navy includes exhibitions located in a large diesel submarine "B-396" and sites with military equipment. The expositions reflect the stages of formation and development, as well as the flourishing of the Russian Navy.
The B - 396 vessel was built in St. Petersburg at the Krasnoye Somovo shipyard and from 1980 to 2000 served in the Atlantic and Arctic oceans. In 2003, the boat was converted into a museum at an enterprise in Severodvinsk.
The boat sank to a depth of 300 meters. She has one anchor. The captain's cabin is equipped with various devices: antennas, radars and navigation devices. The boat has seven compartments: torpedo, CPU, diesel, battery, electric motor, stern and living quarters. The boat is equipped with hatches for crossings. They have been preserved, but they have doors for the passage of visitors. Inside the boat, you can see the torpedo compartments in which six torpedo devices are located. There are also diving suits that were used when needed.
A radio room is located near the torpedo compartment. The living area of the boat is very small. Separate small captain's cabin, officers' cabins are designed for two. Separate doctor's cabin and separate boat isolation room. The decor is strict everywhere, no frills. Further you can see the cabin of hydroacoustics.
The boat museum is equipped with a small exhibition hall, where personal belongings of the crew, archival documents, crew uniforms and much more are displayed. In the storerooms of the museum there are many exhibits that are waiting for their turn to be presented in the museum's exposition.
In the same room, you can see the development plan of the museum. It is planned to equip an exhibition area on the embankment. It will exhibit: a sailing ship, an amphibious aircraft and a modern warship. It is planned to increase the exhibition area - to build a museum building with a real lighthouse. In front of the building there will be a square with flagpoles and stands.
It is assumed that in the coming years the museum will become a meeting place for veterans of the Navy, scientists, industrial workers, as well as present and future defenders of the Fatherland.
