Odense Zoo is one of the unique zoos in Denmark, where representatives of fauna from different countries and continents are gathered. The zoo is located on South Boulevard on both sides of the Odense River. The total area of the park is four hectares of land.

The history of the creation of the park begins on May 16, 1930. Its founder is Christian Jensen. The first animals that were in the zoo: mule, guinea pigs, two monkeys, peacock, deer. On the very first day, the zoo was visited by a record number of people - 5620, even today this is an impressive figure. In 1980, the Jensen family transferred the park to the municipality of the city of Odense, in 1983 it was recognized as a state park.

Gradually, the zoo expanded, bought and brought animals from all over the world. Today it is one of the most popular and most visited parks in Denmark. There are over 147 species of animals in it. In the zoo, you can get acquainted with various species of birds, mammals, reptiles, insects that were brought from Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, Australia.

In 2011, the Odense Zoo opened the Oceanarium. This is the largest and most expensive project in the Danish zoo. It is not by chance that the theme of the oceanarium was chosen - South America. It is the only continent with all types of climate, from the tropical heat south to the cold Antarctic.

On the territory of the park there are cafes and restaurants where you can taste excellent local cuisine, pastries, tea, cocoa, soft drinks. Souvenir shops also attract the attention of tourists with an abundance of magnets, calendars, postcards, key chains, lighters with the attributes of the Odense Zoo.
