Description of the attraction
The Church of the Archangel Michael in Temryuk is one of the city's attractions. There was no church in Temryuk for a long time, so all the services of the Orthodox community were held in a small house located on Tamanskaya Street.
In 1987, thanks to the initiative of the priest Nikolai Voron, the idea of erecting the Archangel Michael Church in Temryuk was realized. The author of the project of the slender, light, soaring church was the honorary architect of Russia Dmitry Sokolov, who at that time worked in the architectural department of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
The foundation of the church in the plan has the form of a cross. The temple is built of red bricks, white bricks are used as decoration. The main volume is crowned with a large dome with a cross. The first church service in the new church was performed in 1998.
The church with gilded domes towering on Mount Miska is visible for several kilometers around. The ringing of her bells echoes throughout the area.
