Description of the attraction

Korbakov Vladimir Nikolaevich - People's Artist of Russia and a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, who made a tangible contribution to the development of Russian art. The Museum and Creative Center, dedicated to the folk artist V. N. Korbakov, is a two-story mansion, which was built in 1892. The house of the national cultural figure is located on the former Bolshaya Dvoryanskaya street, located in the famous historical district of the city. This type of building is typical of the provincial architecture of the Russian North of the 19th century and has a stone basement and a previously wooden, now stone, top. At the moment, the museum center has been reconstructed and slightly increased in size thanks to annexes.

Since the end of 2002, an exposition of graphics, paintings and numerous collections of the famous cultural figure has opened in the Korbakov building. Permanent exhibition of graphic and pictorial works by V. N. in the "House of Korbakov" contains not only works-gifts that were presented to the city of Vologda, but also works performed in different periods of time, which are in the collections of the regional Vologda art gallery.

Fine paintings, which are presented in the exhibition premises of the center, reflect the most characteristic directions of Korbakov's talent: portraits, landscapes, subject-thematic works and still lifes. As for landscape works, this section mainly presents graphic and pictorial works created by the master during plein-airs in Russian cities of the Vologda Territory. A single image of the nature of their land was embodied in such works as "Spaso-Sumorin Monastery in Totma", "The red summer is passing. Ustyuzhna "," Great Ustyug "and others. An important place in the artist's landscape series is occupied by those works that were dedicated to his beloved city - Vologda, for example, "The Old House on Maltsev Street", "The Governor's House in Vologda", etc.

A special place, along with the landscape direction of work, is occupied by numerous portraits. Porters painted by Vladimir Nikolaevich are portraits of contemporaries of various professions and ages, but especially interesting for the artist. The exposition presents portraits of women, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, children and young people. Historical, documentary and scientific portraits of Vologda residents, from Vologda governors to noble and talented contemporaries, are of no small value: “Blue twilight. Portrait of the poet Rubtsov N. "," Dancer Vera Fedotovskaya "," Anatoly Ekhalov - director and writer "and many others.

Self-portraits of Vladimir Nikolaevich serve as a real decoration of the exposition. An artist's self-portrait is a necessary and important form of self-expression that accompanies an artist throughout his creative life. The exposition includes self-portraits: “Self-portrait in a white shirt”, “Self-portrait”, “Self-portrait on a horse”, “Garden scarecrow”, “Romantic self-portrait”.

In the field of thematic works presented in the permanent exhibition of the museum and creative center "House of Korbakov", the most important are the paintings: "Two on New Year's Eve", "The Russian Navy is 300 years old", "Spanish artists are visiting", "Requiem", "Secrets of the Bobryshny Ugor".

In the museum center of Vladimir Nikolayevich Korbakov, in addition to the artist's graphic and pictorial works, unique items from the collection of the artist's portraits entitled "Friends Draw Me" are not only kept, but also actively exhibited. It is this collection that has been created not only by domestic, but also by foreign artists over the past 50 years. Among the authors of the mentioned works are such classics of modern art as T. Salakhov, V. Popkov, I. Glazunov, T. Yablonskaya.

A huge and especially diverse layer of the collection is made up of collectible works of famous Vologda artists. In this context, the works of not only professionals of the older generation are presented: D. Tutunzhan, N. Baskakov, G. Burmagina, A. Panteleev, as well as young and novice authors: S. Veselova, Yu. Voronov, A. Savin.
