Description of the attraction
The Church of the Life-Giving Trinity is one of the iconic sights of Sayanogorsk. At the end of the twentieth century. Orthodox Christians of the city have collected signatures with a request to allocate them a plot of land for the construction of their own church. The local authorities supported the believers, after which the construction of the Holy Trinity Church began.
In 1992, the foundation stone of the future church was laid. Thanks to the help of the Sayan Aluminum Smelter, the builders managed to build a church recognized for the impeccability of its external outlines as one of the most beautiful in the territory of Southern Siberia. A special decoration of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity is the bell tower, the bells for which were cast at one of the Voronezh factories by special order.
The ceremony of solemn consecration of the church in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity took place in July 1999, it was conducted by Archbishop Vikentiy of Abakan and Kyzyl, now Metropolitan of Tashkent and Uzbekistan. The temple has become a real gem of Sayanogorsk, the second largest city in Khakassia.
The building of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity is a brick building. The quadruple with small porches is crowned with an octagonal drum. The temple is completed with a dome with a spire.
Today at the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity there is a Sunday school for children, and a monthly newspaper “Sayanogorsk Blagovestnik” is also published.
