Description of the attraction
The Puppet Museum in Basel is rightfully considered the largest museum of this kind in all of Europe. The area of the museum is over a thousand square meters. The building itself was built in 1867 and is itself considered one of the local attractions. It consists of four floors with large halls. The museum's collections are so vast that it is simply impossible to go around it all at once. In this regard, the administration of the museum has compiled electronic catalogs, which include information about each available exhibit with detailed explanations of how to quickly find it in countless toys. It is noteworthy that there are not only all kinds of dolls, but also plush toys, doll houses and various toy utensils related to the life of a doll's "life", here you can see such things that your grandparents could play.
The collection of the museum includes toys created from the beginning of the 19th century to the present day. These are the first mechanical dolls, and bears living in gingerbread houses, and even whole series of dolls ever produced by well-known manufacturers. All of them were brought from all over the world or donated to the museum by former owners and collectors. Some were custom made for the museum and are renowned for their exclusivity. Museum guests can order the production of analogs of certain dolls directly at the museum. Moreover, not a single visitor to the museum leaves its walls without a small memento.
