Description of the attraction
Part of the Collserola mountain range, Mount Tibidabo is the highest point in Barcelona. An unforgettable view of the city and the Mediterranean Sea opens up from here. And it is here that a stunning amusement park is located, one of the symbols of Barcelona and Spain. The park is spread out next to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Christ on an area of seven hectares. This park is the oldest amusement park in Spain and the second oldest in Europe. It was founded in 1899 and opened to the public in 1901. You can get to the park by funicular, the opening of which coincided with the opening of the park. The funicular can be reached by the old blue Tramvia Blau tram, which runs past the old Barcelona mansions. And after the funicular, you can take a special bus that will take you the last two kilometers to the top of Tibidabo.
Today, the park has a large number of modern, technological attractions, along with which there are old retro rides. It features a ferris wheel, multiple swings, carousels, a children's railroad, roller coasters, an air train, wild cars, and more.
It also houses the Museum of Robots, the Museum of Mechanical Dolls of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The park hosts fascinating theatrical performances, often accompanied by fireworks. You can also visit extreme entertainment, for example, take a tour of the Kruger Hotel, in the empty corridors of which horror movie heroes occasionally suddenly appear, frightening visitors. Many attractions have age restrictions, some of which are allowed to be visited by children only if accompanied by an adult.
