Description of the attraction
Albristhorn is the last and at the same time the highest peak of the Nizen mountain range, located in the Swiss canton of Bern. Its height reaches 2,763 meters above sea level. There is a cross on the mountain, symbolizing the conquest of the peak by man, and in the recent past, a cell tower was installed on it.
Albristhorn has two horns, the largest of which is formed by three ridges - South, East and North-West. You can climb the mountain along two unmarked paths. The first begins at Hannenmoospass, passes through Adelboden and Lenk, and continues through Tierberg and Seewlehorn along the southern ridge straight to the summit. The second runs in the direction from Sattel between the villages of Gsyur and Albristhorn and further along the eastern ridge upwards. Both trails are rated T4 on the SAC difficulty scale, which means that climbers need to have some experience and special equipment and uniforms. It should be mentioned that on the eastern ridge there is only one transition of increased difficulty, a fall on which is very unlikely, while the southern one consists of several easier, but at the same time, more dangerous in terms of falling crossings.
A magnificent panorama opens up to the gaze of a man who climbed the Albristhorn. The following mountains are located in a southern direction from east to west: Wetterhorn, Eiger, Mönch, Matterhorn, Wildhorn, Mont Blanc and others. Looking north, you can see the Swiss plateau all the way to the Jura mountain range. And although Albristhorn is quite impressive in size, it is quite difficult to see the mountain from afar. The surrounding three-thousanders - Wildstrubel, Blumlisalp and Balmhorn, located at a distance of 25 km, almost completely cover the slightly shorter neighbor.
