Description of the attraction
Ancient Tunisia has a very rich history, which is confirmed by the numerous architectural monuments located on the territory of this state. One of the most popular attractions is the Mausoleum of Princess Aziza.
According to legends, one of the beys - Othman - had a daughter named Fatima. The young princess was a very pious and merciful girl, and therefore among the people they began to call her Aziza, which in Arabic means "dear" or "beloved." Princess Fatima died in 1963 and the subjects decided to thank the princess for all the good deeds that she did for them by burying her with special honors in a mausoleum built especially for her and her ancestors. In the building of the mausoleum there are several burial places of representatives of the famous family of Bey Otman. The rooms of the mausoleum contain a large number of ancient relics, as well as many other items of historical importance.
Despite the fact that the tomb is located on the territory of private property, it will most likely be possible to visit it by talking to the owners.
