Description of the attraction
One of the most original and unusual monuments of the city of Khanty-Mansiysk is the Memorable Sign to the Discoverers of the Yugorskaya Land. The attraction is located on the Avenue of Discoverers at the highest point in the city - a green hill about 80 m high. The total height of the pyramid itself is 62 m.
The construction of this monument began in 2002 and finished in 2003. The interior of the pyramid is made in a high-tech architectural style using the theme of water as a symbol of life and time change. The three sides of the memorial sign are symbols of three separate historical periods. One of these facets symbolizes the period of ancient Ugra, the other - the beginning of the mass development of oil and gas fields of rich Siberian oil and gas fields, and the third - the time of development of Siberia by Ermak's squad.
The head of the group of authors was K. V. Saprichyan (workshop "Project KS"). The architects were S. V. Terekhov, P. G. Petushkov, A. R. Asadov, S. V. Peyda, chief designer - N. V. Kancheli, sculptural work was done by K. V. Saprichyan and N. N. Lyubimov. According to the ideas of the architects, the stele in its appearance was supposed to resemble the Khanty chum, an oil rig and a Cossack observation tower.
Previously, the lower level of the stele was occupied by a cozy restaurant, the second level was a museum, and the third was equipped as an observation deck, from where an amazing view of the park and the city of Khanty-Mansiysk opened at the foot of the hill. Soon the stele fell into disrepair and gradually began to collapse. In 2012, the facility was transferred to the management of the municipality, which was engaged in the repair and restoration of the building. The outdoor light is on again. After the completion of the restoration work, the restaurant will reopen in the stele, as well as the aquarium floor and a new observation deck with a telescope.
The most vivid and unforgettable impression The monument to the discoverers of the land of Yugorskaya makes in the dark. To highlight it, an original computer program was created, which has no analogues in Russia.
