Description of the attraction
Anapa lighthouse is one of the main attractions of the resort town of Anapa. The lighthouse is located at the foot of the mountains in the place where the Vysoky Bereg promenade ends. A wonderful panorama of the Utrish peninsula and the spurs of the Greater Caucasus opens from here.
The very first lighthouse in the city of Anapa was erected in July 1908, when an earthen mound was located at the edge of the high bank, which is the remains of an ancient burial mound. Here, a flashing beacon was installed, which started working on October 20, 1909. It illuminated the way for all ships passing by. In 1943, the Anapa lighthouse was destroyed by the Nazis during the retreat.
The modern lighthouse on the steep bank of Cape Anapsky was installed in 1955. The lighthouse tower is an octahedron with three white and three black horizontal stripes. The total height of the lighthouse is 43 meters above sea level. The range of the red flashing light of the fire is about 18.5 nautical miles. In addition to the light signal, the Anapa lighthouse is equipped with all the necessary radio technical means - a radio beacon, a radio station and an autonomous diesel generator.
