Description of the attraction
On the eastern coast of the island of Paros (Cyclades archipelago), a few kilometers south of the town of Marpissa and 18 km south-east of Parikia (the administrative center of the island), there is a small resort town of Piso Livadi.
The picturesque town of Piso Livadi is considered the best part of the southern coast of Paros. In recent years, its tourist infrastructure has significantly changed. Today, Piso has an excellent selection of comfortable hotels and apartments. The town is famous for its excellent restaurants, taverns and cafes with excellent Greek cuisine. Here you can relax and enjoy excellent fresh fish and seafood delicacies. Vacationers will also be pleased with the excellent city sandy beach with trees.
There is a small port in Piso Livadi, where many fishing boats and yachts are moored, and there are regular flights to the islands of Naxos, Mykonos and Santorini. This provides an excellent opportunity to make a fascinating excursion or a small sea cruise.
Near the city's harbor (at a distance of less than 1 km) is the magnificent Lagaros beach, awarded the famous "blue flag", and immediately behind it is the village of the same name, where hotels and apartments are mainly concentrated. The location is ideal for both swimming and snorkeling, as well as sport fishing and other water sports. On a hill that overlooks the village, there is a small snow-white church of St. George, dating back to the 13th century. The temple has interesting ancient frescoes, unfortunately not very well preserved to this day.
There are also many excellent beaches south of Piso Livadi, the most famous of which is the Golden Beach, one of the best beaches on the island and a favorite destination for windsurfers and kitesurfers.
