Description of the attraction
One of the largest museums of technology in Russia opened on September 7, 2001 in the city of Togliatti. The creator of the open-air museum was the AvtoVAZ enterprise represented by Vice-President K. G. Sakharov (later the museum will be named after him).
On the 38 hectares of the museum and park complex there are more than 460 exhibits of aviation, armored, rocket-artillery and railway equipment. The main part of the museum contains military-historical samples from the First and Second World Wars. Visitors' attention is drawn to one of the world's largest submarine B-307, the length of which exceeds ninety meters and a height of more than twelve meters, delivered from the place of duty in its entirety. The museum also presents an exposition of the development of the automotive industry (technology from different countries), samples of space rovers and a natural model of a walking transport robot, as well as the results of engineering work (engines, turbine disk, etc.). The museum funds are constantly replenished with historical and household exhibits: counting and typewriters, the first computers, radios, cameras, reel-to-reel tape recorders, gramophones, gramophones and much more.
Recently, more and more often, the Technical Museum initiates the holding of the Festivals of Historical Reconstruction on its territory, arousing the interest of the youth of Togliatti and guests of the city.
